University Honors are given to undergraduate students who have taken at least 32 EKU hours (Associate) or at least 64 hours (Baccalaureate) with the following adjusted GPA:
| Associate Degrees | |
| With Distinction | 3.5 to 3.69 |
| With High Distinction | 3.7 to 4.0 |
| Baccalaureate Degrees | |
| Cum Laude | 3.5 to 3.69 |
| Magna Cum Laude | 3.7 to 3.89 |
| Summa Cum Laude | 3.9 to 4.0 |
Determining University Honor eligibility:
- Calculation of adjusted GPA
All semester hours transferred to and attempted at EKU are included. Therefore, grades for every repeated or bankrupted course are considered for the GPA Honors calculation. - Official University Honors awards
Honors recognized during the graduation ceremony do not include the final semester's course work, and are therefore un-official. Official University Honors on the diploma and final transcript will include the final semester's grades.
