  1. Is there a limit on the number of guests I can invite?
No, there is no limit on the number of invited guests. Graduate Candidates are welcome to invite whomever they wish. EKU encourages graduates to enjoy this exciting day and to participate fully in all Graduation activities.
  1. Where do I get Graduation Announcements and Class Rings?
Jostens is the vendor that provides personalized announcements. Personalized announcements take two weeks to be produced. The EKU Bookstore also has generic announcements for sale. Invitations, announcements and class rings can be ordered during GRAD-FEST or directly from Jostens via their web site at http://college.jostens.com/jostens/index.jsp?affiliateId=1069223.
  1. What name appears on my diploma?
On your Graduation Application at the time you applied for Graduation you were asked to print your name just as you wanted your name to appear on your diploma and in the Commencement Program. Also, on the application you indicated the address where your diploma will be sent. If you have any doubts about the accuracy of this information confirm this information with the Administrative Assistant in your College.
  1. When will I receive my diploma?
Diplomas will be mailed out approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks after graduation to those students who have successfully completed degree program requirements. A free copy of your official EKU transcript will be included.
  1. Is there a graduation fee?
After you apply for Graduation with the Administrative Assistant in your college a Graduation fee of $20.00 for undergraduate and $40.00 for graduate-level students is charged to your account and payable to EKU at the cashier's window in Student Accounting Services.
  1. Where do I get caps and gowns?
Caps, gowns, hoods for graduate students, and honors sashes can be picked up during GRAD-FEST. Caps and gowns will not be mailed. It is the student's responsibility to make arrangements to procure their academic regalia.
  1. Do I really need to go to GradFest?
Yes! GRAD-FEST is for all graduating students: Associates, Baccalaureate and Masters! GradFest only takes a few minutes of your time, but provides you with everything necessary to make Commencement a success and to make sure your diploma is correct and is mailed to the proper address. GradFest is THE opportunity to acquire your cap and gown and offers a chance to buy invitations and class rings, get professional portraits made, and make arrangements to deal with your student loans. GradFest is scheduled during the day and evenings for three days each semester to accommodate students that work and have other obligations.
  1. I'm a graduate student. What do I need to do to attend Commencement?
Attend GRAD-FEST! GradFest is not just for undergraduates (see above). This is also where you will receive your Masters Hood, compliments of EKU.
  1. What if I missed GradFest?
There will be a Last Chance Cap and Gown Pick Up on Friday, December 11 from 10am to 4pm in the 2nd floor lobby of the SSB. This is the final opportunity for you to prepare for Commencement and to confirm the name on your diploma and your address for receiving your diploma.
  1. What if I'm a long-distance student?
If you live out of state, or more than 3 hours away, special arrangements may be made to acquire your regalia. Please call Rebecca Jones at (859) 622-1096 to make arrangements.
  1. What if I still have work "In-Progress"?
Students with work "In-Progress" or who have classes with grades of "Incomplete" will be allowed to march in the Commencement Ceremony. However, all "In-Progress" work and "Incomplete" grades must be converted to official grades by the degree conferral date in order for a degree to be awarded during any given term.
  1. What do I need to do if I am no longer eligible to graduate?
Contact the Academic Specialist in your College and request deferral to the following semester as soon as possible. This will enable your graduation fee to be transferred to the following semester and will enable you to register for any classes you need to complete your degree.
