Caps, gowns and other regalia
Graduation caps and gowns are required for all commencement participants. This is a recognition ceremony that is optional and candidates should be appropriately attired. EKU provides complementary Associate, Baccalaureate, and Masters caps, gowns and tassels, as well as Master Hoods for students well in advance of Commencement day. Undergraduate students earning University honors will be provided with an honor sash. Approved Honor Societies may provide optional regalia for their members to wear at commencement. It is the students' responsibility to attend GradFest in order to acquire the required regalia. Caps and gowns will not be mailed.
GradFest
GradFest is a three-day event hosted each semester to prepare that semester's graduates for Commencement. This is the opportunity to acquire Commencement regalia, order invitations and class rings, take professional photos in your regalia, and confirm the name on your diploma and the address to which it is to be sent. GradFest occurs in the student lobby of the Powell Building.
GradFest Dates for 2010:
March 16-18 (Tuesday 11am-7pm; Wednesday 10am-6pm; Thursday 10am-4pm)
Photography and videotapes
Professional photography will be provided. Candidates will have the opportunity to be individually photographed, alone or with family members, after the ceremony in the Fred
Darling Auxiliary Gym. Candidates will also be photographed walking across the stage. Proofs and information from the photographer will be sent to the student's EKU email address approximately one week following the ceremony. A videotape ($16) or DVD ($20) of the ceremony will also be available for purchase through EKU's Media Production Center: Graduation VHS-DVD order form.
Reception
There will be an informal reception for graduates in the Auxiliary Gym immediately following each graduation ceremony.
